So usually I pick up a calendar after January 1st because the sales for those things begin and I always end up with three or four even though I don't hang any of them up on the wall. In the past years, I've opted for the ones which are related to musicals (Broadway Musicals Calendar - 2007), or Wicked (the weekly calendar I picked up at Barnes and Noble last year), or this year - a larger Wicked (monthly calendar) which has the newer cast photos etc etc, and another Ansel Adams one. So this year, I'll have calendars from my bank, and the ones I buy, and there shall be naught written upon them. :)

Other things I picked up yesterday: more Glee (the actual CDs - volumes 1 and 2).

Things I got today - via Chapters/Indigo - the Playbill yearbook and Gourmet's cookbook or whatever it was... visual food porn I think I had it tagged as.

Things I've been doing for the last four days: building stud wall framing, breaking apart said framing because somehow across 7' I managed to cut the top and bottom plates 1/2" different in length and it didn't fit.

Tomorrow, I'll ponder a part time skill of installing that pink insulation batts. The type with the Pink Panther? I'll try not to breathe too much of it.

Because, you guys, I totally forgot to use my Gaga icon last night. WE CAN'T HAVE A CHRISTMAS WITHOUT REINDEER!GAGA, CAN WE? THOUGHT SO.

---

My plan for the day is going to the movies with friends and watch that movie about Richard Gere and the Akita dog. I even have a japanese playlist to get me in the mood. Boy, do I love Akitas/Shiba Inus. I'll spend the whole time squeeing. Who cares about the plot or something. CUTE PUPPIES YES.

I hope you guys have/had a day fill(ed) with booze, gay princesses, tea, Chocotone, cheesy Christmas music and shiny gifts. I ♥ u, f-list.

I'd like someone to explain me why my f-list is all Legend of the Seeker right now. It has more of that show than it has of tennis, Skins, Glee, Girls Aloud or, you know, any of my fandoms.

I know all about Cara and her hot lips (she also kissed Charisma Carpenter once); Kahlan, her white dress, her lip scar and her boobs (that seems to be a fan favourite); Richard and his beard (apparently it's not looking that good this season); the dildos of pain (idek) -- AND I DON'T EVEN WATCH THE SHOW. Internet, LOOK WHAT YOU'RE DOING TO ME. I'm not amused.

Really, is the show that good? I don't even like mythological stuff that much (I've read quite a few King Arthur books -- does that count as mythological?) but I'm feeling coerced into watching. At this exact point, I'm trying to resist but I wonder how long it will take before you guys completely BRAINWASH me or something. Seriously, soon I'll know the whole storyline by heart. (If I don't already know.)

---

So this entry isn't completely pointless, it's Christmas Eve here: MERRY CHRISTMAS, LOVELIES. I'll post two songs perfect for this time of the year (at least one of them is) for you guys to get in the spirit of the holidays.
If you don't get in the spirit, don't worry, when my Christmas cards arrive (in February or so), they will bring you back into the Christmas spirit. Cheers!

Inspired by this, I decided to make my own 2009 mix. In fact, I'm pretty sure all of these songs were released in 2009 but don't quote me on this.

Instead of all kinds of music (because gosh, it would have been the oddest mix of indie, pop, broadway and electro for me), I've made it pop only with some remixes. Because some of the songs in this were overplayed (e.g. "Russian Roulette", "3", "Party In The USA*", etc.) and therefore needed some cool new versions. And something quite amazing is that: you know how you can tell this really is a 2009 mix? 90% of these songs were posted either here or at twitter by me at some point this year. Amazing.

don't stop believing )

*You guys are not allowed to make fun of this.
